POSITANO TOURS – Looking for good Positano tips?
The city is one of the main destinations on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, a region classified by UNESCO, since 1997, as a World Heritage Site. Along with Amalfi, Positano is one of the favorite and most charming beaches on the Coast to stay. And, by the way, one of the most expensive. Luxury paradisiacal destination for couples in love. So much so that it has already attracted painters, writers and celebrities. It has a labyrinth of alleys, many ups and downs, chaotic but beautiful paths. So, a perfect place to get lost.
Tips for Positano on the Amalfi Coast: a walk along the beach, restaurants and center
Positano was one of the first destinations on his journey through Southern Italy. Romantic and photogenic. It is certainly a beach that cannot be missing from your itinerary along the Amalfi Coast.
It is important to highlight the geography of Positano: a village perched on a cliff overlooking the sea. Therefore, going up and down stairs and slopes is a challenge for your breath. By the way, it is practically impossible to drive into the center of Positano or to the beach. Therefore, the main means of transport is walking. Choose comfortable shoes and legs that I want you for.
Shopping, what to bring as a souvenir
Shops selling hand-painted ceramics, handmade sandals and limoncello drink are everywhere in Positano’s many shops. They are the main souvenirs and make you want to take everything. Good to know that many ceramic stores don’t allow photos (they must be afraid of copying the drawings, I don’t know).
The elegant colors of Positano
The first impression in Positano is that everything is yellow: Sicilian lemon and ceramics. And more: everyone wears a lot of white or pastel tones. Dark tones do not exist in Positano’s watercolor. So here’s the tip: nothing black in your suitcase for the Amalfi Coast, ok? And it goes for men and women. Light clothes, linen, light colors, in short, this is the elegant atmosphere of Positano.
Beaches
Positano basically has two famous beaches: Spiaggia Grande and Spiaggia del Fornillo. Spiaggia Grande is the beach connected to the center of Positano, therefore, the best known. Looking from afar, the beach looks like sand. But, getting closer you realize that they are very small pebbles. A tip, take note: they say that the perfect light on this beach to photograph is around 7:30 in the morning.
From the beach of Positano, private boats (which you hire by the hour for excursions) and the ferry (ferry boat) depart between some beaches and islands in summer such as Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi.
