Sorrento

Knowing that a trip from Rome covers approximately 259 KM 3 or 15 minutes, you will be in Sorrento and can enjoy some free time to get to know this ancient city built on a volcanic tuff formed by an ancient eruption. You will be entranced by the perfumes exuded by the orange and lemon tree gardens.

The city looks like a terrace overlooking the wonderful blue Mediterranean sea.

Positano

It is one of the best-known cities on the Amalfi Coast, always sought after for photo shoots due to its stunning views. With an area of less than 9km², it is the “first” city on the coast taking into account the west-east direction. It is a very steep city, with a “small center” located on the seafront and restricted vehicle access. Parking in Positano can be a difficult task, as in other small towns on the Amalfi Coast, so I recommend that you visit the place without a car.

The streets of Positano, full of flowers, with craft and gift shops are already an attraction; But beyond that, there are classic places that are worth visiting and taking a photograph of.

Among the city’s great attractions are the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, with a Byzantine-style dome that can be admired from various points in Positano, as well as Playa Grande (the center and soul of the city) and Playa di Fornillo.

The hustle and bustle of Positano is concentrated around Playa Grande (Spiaggia Grande), a beach about 300 meters long, where there are beach clubs, seaside restaurants and the “port”, where various vessels throughout the day.

Even if you only have a few days to visit the region, Positano is one of those places you can’t miss! It’s so beautiful and worth making it part of your itinerary.

Amalfi

The city is on the seashore, has a beach with beautiful restaurants and a lively center, where there are restaurants, ice cream shops, gift shops and Piazza del Duomo, which houses the city’s cathedral. It is a super charming place, with an architectural and visual complex that is an attraction in itself.

Amalfi was one of the most important and powerful Repubbliche Marinare (Maritime Republics) in Italian history, which were port cities that stood out for trade and economic and military prosperity. The city is so important to the country’s history that its symbol is represented on the flag of the “Marina Militare”, the Military Navy, one of the Italian armed forces.

Enjoy the landscape from the pier in front of the city, enjoy Marina Grande Beach and visit the Duomo di Sant’Andrea, the city’s cathedral, which began construction in the 9th century. Inside the Duomo you can visit the Basilica del Crocifisso, which was the first cathedral in Amalfi.

If you have more time available, you can also go to the Museo della Carta (Paper Museum), located in an old handmade paper factory, and Valle dei Mulini, a mountainous valley on the coast of Amalfi, where you can admire the lemon plantations, waterfalls and mills.
